This gorgeous family met me back at the Waterway, where we did our first family photo session together a few years back. We struck gold with weather and light that evening…which is always such a gift this photographer doesn’t take for granted!

It means so much to me when clients continue to come back and ask me to photograph their families, documenting huge moments for them. This was my THIRD maternity session with this beautiful, kind hearted family. I’ve now also had a chance to meet these precious babies, but before I share the latest newborn session, let’s go back to our fall family and maternity session. We tried out a new location and were gifted with the best golden hour light!

Wow, we had perfect weather for this fall family photo session here in The Woodlands! I first met this family a couple of years ago when their daughter was just a baby. We did an in home family photo session, showing off their nursery and just capturing life as it was as a family of three.

Now, they have added to their crew, and little brother got to join us for an outdoor session. We had plenty of sunshine, plenty of smiles, and plenty of leaves to run through!

One of my favorite parts of the job is getting to know families and seeing their kids grow and change! This sweet little 6 month old girl has blossomed into the best big sister and an adorable toddler! And sweet little bubba….he was an absolute angel baby!

This little cutie pie absolutely showed off his charm for all of his Watch Me Grow sessions. His first birthday photo session was no exception! Cake smashes are optional all of my birthday sessions, but they do make a fun way to document and capture the end of this special first year.

For obvious reasons, the cake smash is always left to the last 10 minutes or so of the session. We’ve gotten all the baby portraits, family pics and candids out of the way, and all that’s left is what happens when a little one lays his eyes and hands on sugar for the first time!

Ian did not hold back. Scroll down to see how the cake made out.

Bennett / Newborn Photographer in The Woodlands, TX

Everything about this in home newborn session was perfect! One of the first things I do when I get to a client’s home is to walk around and take a light inventory. I turn off any overhead lights, lamps, etc and just notice where the natural light is available.

Usually the room with the most natural light ends up being the master bedroom. This works out well because the entire family can cuddle together on the bed, and there is almost plenty of space to work with. This session was a little different in that when I walked into Bennett’s nursery, I knew right away we would be spending most of our time in there. Not only was the room beautiful (hello gorgeous wall paper and details!), but we had gorgeous morning light just streaming through this huge window by his crib.

As you can see from my overshare of pictures here, we had plenty to work with! Big sister was a dream, keeping on eye on baby brother and just wanting to cuddle and touch him whenever she could.

Cole / The Woodlands TX Baby & First Year Photographer

This family shows up on my blog quite a bit, and I’m so grateful. They moved quickly from clients to friends and we have done more sessions together than I can count on one hand…or almost two. I have watched both of their boys grow up so fast during that first year as they were both “Watch Me Grow” babies.

This sitter session took place last summer, and Cole is actually off and running now. But for memory sake, we’ll go back to that “potted plant” stage where they just stayed put and keeping up with them wasn’t a workout. Big brother, Ethan is always such a ham for the camera, and this session was no exception!

I have such a special in home newborn session to share with you! Momma wanted to capture this special time with both her babies and we got to include a Life in Motion add on to the session. You will have to just scroll through my overshare of photos to see it!

When my clients choose this add on, I take a bunch of short video clips throughout our photo session. Most times, no one is the wiser because I toggle between video and still images easily on my camera. I’m then able to use those clips and edit them, adding music for a priceless keepsake for the family.

Big sister was just perfect! She loved cuddling with her brother….you must see the video…but was also excited to show off for me a bit while mom was feeding little man. That’s why I love offering family newborn photo sessions. Of course your little one is getting plenty of focus, but this is a time capsule for your family. You are going to want to remember every bit of it.

Your daughter who just got promoted to big sister? She seems so grown up, doesn’t she? It’s hard to imagine she was ever as tiny as that sweet newborn, right? Well you know what? You are going to blink and realize how little she was at this moment too….and that’s why we need to capture ALL of it.

This little girl’s name may be Grey, but she is ALL sunshine!! She even had an outfit to match! All four of us were loving this photo session because it was the first day of fall that felt like….well, fall. Now here I am in March, finally getting to share it!

I had not seen Grey since her first birthday photo session…which seemed like a long time because I got to see this family quite often that first year as they were one of my “Watch Me Grow” families. Nevertheless, it was perfect timing. She was telling me all about how they were going to the park and she had been starting school. I could not believe how this little toddler had just blossomed in such a short time to this lovely little girl. We all know it goes way too fast!!

I am so excited to share this newborn at home photo session with you! This was our second photo session together, even though she was only a few days old because I was blessed to be a part of her birth. You can see more from her birth photo session here.

I also tried something a little new by taking some short video clips throughout our session and put it all together for this sweet family. You’ll have to scroll all the way down to take a peek!

Teagan was the perfect baby for our session. She slept almost the entire time and even gave us some precious sleepy smiles (see below!). Big brother was awesome, always checking in with sister and mom, but enjoying some play time with dad too!

Brehm Maternity / The Woodlands TX Maternity photographer

I met this sweet couple almost a year ago for their maternity session near one of my favorite locations. They were anxiously awaiting their little boy while both in finishing med school in the beginning of a pandemic…I’d say they’ve had quite the year!

Looking at these pictures has me coveting that lush green landscape after the hard freeze in Texas last week. Our spring growing season has taken quite the hit! Looking forward to seeing some of my favorite locations recover and show off again for us in the coming months!
