Hale Twins / The Woodlands TX Baby Photographer

I’m long overdue in sharing this in home baby photo session with you! In fact….these sweet twins are now off and running and about to get promoted to the role of big brother and big sister. I was thrilled when their mom contacted me a few weeks ago to book another Watch Me Grown first year photo package for their newest little one arriving later this year.

Normally, I space out the Watch Me Grow packages to include a newborn, 4 month in home, sitter, and 1st birthday session. However, there is always flexibility in the timing of these sessions. We have had to exercise flexibility with a capital F during this pandemic. Since we had to abide by the non-essential work shut down in spring of 2020, we didn’t get to do this session until the twins were six months old…which worked out just fine. It also worked out great doing an in home session because everyone was a lot happier in air conditioning in June.

These in home baby photo sessions are super relaxed. We usually cuddle and play in different areas of the home, making sure to take some pictures in the nursery, if available. It’s fun to capture a bit of a time capsule for life as it is in this fun stage. These babies personalities and shining through, along with smiles, belly rolls, and lighting up when they see mom and dad. It’s amazing how much they have already changed and grown in just a few short months since their newborn photo session.

Rebecca / Newborn Photographer in The Woodlands, TX

This family photo session was extra special because it was my third newborn session to do with this family! These two big brothers were just days old when I first met them. It’s so fun to get to document them growing up and taking on the role of big brothers to little sister Rebecca!

We kept things relaxed and fun as they should be! One of the best parts about shooting in home newborn sessions is that older siblings can come and go as they wish. When they seem interested in what’s going on, we capitalize on that, whether they wanting to snuggle and love on their sibling, or play with mom and dad. Does big brother have more interest in stealing a few moments away by wrestling dad? Great! I’m going to get that too. These are lifestyle newborn sessions, which means I am creating a bit of a time capsule for the stage of life of your family….and all of the beautiful chaos that comes with that. This isn’t about capturing perfection because we all know that life doesn’t happen that way. Life is beautiful and sometimes messy, but capturing your family just as they are is what makes these images picture perfect.

Nora / The Woodlands Fresh 48 Hospital Photographer

It’s been way too long since I’ve shared a Fresh 48 session with you. In fact, this little girl has already celebrated her first birthday because my last hospital photo session took place the second week of March 2020. For so long the hospitals were shut down to visitors, and that obviously included us photographers. I was broken hearted to have to take a break from hospital and birth sessions. They are some of my very favorite. If I’m being honest, I worried if they would ever return.

Thankfully, Fresh 48 sessions are starting to come back! Many area hospitals are starting to allow additional visitors which means that if you are expecting and have your heart set on having a photographer capture those first early moments as a family, there is a good chance we can make it happen! (Please check with your doctor and hospital visitor policy to confirm).

I’ve missed witnessing these moments when newly promoted big siblings lay eyes on their siblings for the first time, watching parents figure out which cries mean what, and being a witness to the love that exudes out of these hospital rooms. I’m so excited to be able to offer these newborn hospital sessions in The Woodlands and Houston area again. Please reach out if you have questions or would like to book a session.

Steward / Family photographer in The Woodlands

After a year of watching my “Watch Me Grow babies” go through all of those adorable first year phases, I find myself in a bit of withdrawal after that 12 month session. I mean, it’s so easy to get attached to these babies when I get to see them so much in their first year. You can get a feel for how fun it is to be a First Year Baby Photographer in The Woodlands too. So you can imagine how happy it makes me when those families reach out after a few months because they’ve been missing our time together too and decide it’s time for another family photo session!

This family photo session took place in one of my favorite months of October. October is great for so many reasons including, but not limited to the following:

  1. It’s my birthday. (shout out to any other October birthday people out there!).
  2. Hello! Holidays are around the corner!
  3. Fall is finally on the horizon (except for this session which in Houston fashion felt like a million degrees).
  4. These lovely pink feathery plants are blooming all over The Woodlands, and I’m OBSESSED.

I appreciate that my clients trusted me and didn’t look at me like I was completely off the wagon when I told them to mosey on into those bushes….anything for a photo!

Barros / The Woodlands & Tomball Family Photographer

Living in Texas, I get a lot of requests for Bluebonnet pictures come spring. Typically, this is not a type of session I offer for a few reasons. All of the local areas that typically have any bluebonnets are usually overrun by crowds and those poor bluebonnets don’t stand a chance. You can drive out to Brenham and find some gorgeous spots, but that means piling everyone in the car and driving almost 90 minutes. Also…I have fear of unwanted critters invading our photo sessions. Those gorgeous fields of bluebonnets are home to other wild things I want nothing to do with!

This spring, some of my sweet neighbors asked me to take their family pictures again and celebrate their little guy turning one. They had mentioned it would be cool to if we could manage some bluebonnets, but they too also wanted to stay close to home. I kept my eyes peeled…and stalked social media. It turned out that another client of mine shared an amazing spot not to far from home that had worked great for her two sweet kiddos. She was so kind to share it with me. I was so grateful because it made for the easiest, most perfect little spot for a young family…right in the middle of a neighborhood, but you would have never known. That is, until the session was over, we jumped in our cars and dad was able to quickly get back to work while the rest of us had a short commute home.

We had such a great, easy session. My friends also wanted to include their third child (beautiful June, the Bernese Mountain dog), who is without a doubt the most well behaved dog you will ever meet! She posed! She stayed! She was just happy to be included…you must scroll down and see how perfect she is!

Let’s Hear it for the Class of 2021! / Collin The Woodlands TX Senior Photographer

This year I got to work with several seniors and loved each session so much. I’ll be sharing more with you over the next few weeks.

Collin wanted his senior session to reflect his interests and personality. Senior sessions allow for plenty of time to change outfits for different looks. We also usually utilize a few different locations so your senior gallery has a lot of variety. This session had a little bit of an urban feel, with different textures and backdrops. Weather almost didn’t cooperate, but we said several times how glad we were that we went for it because what looked like a potential rain shower putting a literal damper on things….turned into a gorgeous night with beautiful light!

Kuten Family / The Woodlands TX Family Photographer

Man, this family photo session was FUN! We got to try out a different location, and we played…a lot. This is what you can expect when you book a photo session with me. We don’t sit still for long. When people sit still, they start worrying too much about the little things. Are my kids smiling? Where should I be looking? Does my outfit look ok? That’s not fun for anyone and does lend itself to those natural smiles and JOY that I love for my photos to capture.

Instead, we joke around. We play games. My families tend to forget they are even having their picture taken…and that’s the point! My shutter is almost always in action. It’s not abnormal for me to leave a session with 800 images on my memory card. This is because I’m always constantly shooting. I’m getting those in between moments…those bloopers that sometimes lend themselves to be the diamond of photos.

Kelly Menning Interiors / The Woodlands TX Interior & Business Website Photographer

I love when I get to work with other women who have also built their own businesses. It’s so empowering and encouraging to spend time with other women and moms who have dreamed big and are living out these dreams with the success of their own businesses. I’ve worked with entrepreneurs, innovators, non profit groups, interior designers, bloggers, new construction, home renovators, and other small businesses in and around the Houston area as well as out of state.

Their needs often vary, but many times they are looking for pictures of current projects to add to their portfolio, social media content, website photos and headshots.

Kelly Menning Interiors is a Houston based design firm. She loves designing classic spaces for everyday life. I love that she wanted to incorporate her darling boys into this session because she wanted to highlight that she is a working mom, like many of her clients. You have to scroll through to see one of my favorite photos that happened when our “props” because snacks.

Our beautiful spaces are meant to be LIVED in. I think that’s so important and loved working with her as well as seeing how she had incorporated her design into her own home…and office!

If you are a small business owner, and looking for a photographer to help you showcase your work, please reach out. I would love to chat. I offer services for single sessions for specific projects, website content sessions, as well as ongoing more regular social media & website photos.

Cole is ONE! // The Woodlands TX First Year Photographer

I adore this family soo much! Not only did we get a chance to photograph Cole four times during his first year, but we got a to watch big brother Ethan grow too!

You can see Cole’s newborn, four month, and sitter sessions here.

Three out of four of us were extrememly happy during Cole’s 12 month session. Big brother was more than happy to hold, do silly things to get Cole to laugh, and mom and dad we just laughing at the fact the birthday boy was NOT having it. Ok, so we got a few smiles. And we got shots that “looked” like he was smiling. But we also got plenty of candid shots that captured more behind the scenes moods, which I know we will all laugh about later.

Of course I love the smily pics….but if you think back to the pictures that make you laugh out loud looking back on…it’s almost always those unplanned reactions, looks and fits, because it completely captures THEM.

Claire / Newborn Photographer in The Woodlands, TX

It’s this sweet girl’s birthday month, so I figured it’s probably past time to share her newborn session with you all! Speaking of birthdays, as I type this I’m reflecting on my own baby girl….she turns 13 today. I’m telling you guys…it goes so fast!

I have a lot of special client families that have a sweet spot in my heart. This family is definitely one of them. I have had the honor of photographing all three of their babies’ newborn sessions, and this time was super fun because we got to add some girlie touches!

Fair warning that I had to overshare this session with you…there were just so many sweet photos from this in home newborn session. I loved showcasing their beautiful home and nursery as the backdrop for our session. It’s so much more personal than a studio session to me. Everyone seems to relax and have more fun. When big brothers need a break…off they go! When baby sister needs to feed, no problem!

All of my newborn photo sessions are naturally family photo sessions. You’ll have to scroll down to see how big brothers perfectly photo bombed our pristine newborn set up…and I would have it no other way!
