My commute for this session was walking just a few houses down the street. Ok, truth be told, I drove…because I had a few things to unload, but it was so wonderful to get to take one of my sweet neighbor’s newborn photos.
Georgia is the perfect caboose for this family of six and her older siblings are just the sweetest. They could not get enough of her and just wanted to hold and snuggle her as much as possible…well, everyone but possibly number three in line. You’ll have to scroll down a few to see when she decided she might be done with the photo session.
Newly promoted older siblings, who also still happen to be babies or toddlers themselves offer some of the best comedic relief during newborn photo sessions. You better believe my clients are also getting some of those outtake photos because they will no doubt make them laugh and they will treasure those as well. Then they’ll probably pat themselves on the back for surviving this sweet, but often chaotic stage of life with multiple kids you can count the age of on one hand.
I absolutely loved how classic our setting was for this session. I get a little excited when a client tells me they have white bedding. I can shoot a newborn photo session anywhere, but I love how classic and clean white bedding looks as a backdrop. Sometimes people are timid when sharing that they have a bold accent wall or paint color, but when combined with lighter bedding, it just complements the setting so well….especially when we have some great windows to allow that beautiful, natural light in. Since I am a natural light photographer and can’t tell you the last time I used a flash, all of those factors play into my photo setup.
